The role of metaphor in Nietzsche and Bergson

Abstract

The paper aims to present, from a preliminary perspective, why two contemporary thinkers, Bergson and Nietzsche, not only used the metaphor in their writings but also claimed to be a much more suitable means of philosophizing. In various parts of theirs works, both thinkers have harsh criticisms of the pretension of language, the fruit of the human intellect, of embracing the real, and of using it to attribute values to a search for truth. Therefore, our course will begin exposing the critics of the authors to the language and then discuss the use that these authors do of the metaphor itself.
