Authorship Guidelines
-
Only unpublished works (under the screening of anti-plagiarism tools) and that have not been simultaneously submitted to other specialized journals will be considered for publication. In the case of preprint versions, after positive peer review and publication, the preprint should refer to the publication in Inquietude.
-
Inquietude publishes unpublished works in the form of articles, essays, reviews, translations and interviews. It is aimed at the publication of works by undergraduate and graduate students in philosophy and related areas, provided that they have a philosophical character, although we fully accept works by professors and other researchers.
-
Articles and essays, of research or discussion, should be preferably submitted in Portuguese or English (or another language, justified in the submission), be linguistically revised and contain at least 5,000 (five thousand) words and a maximum of 10,000 (ten thousand) words (including spaces, resumo/abstract, keywords, notes and references). The text should use the font Times New Roman, size 12, with space between lines 1.5. It should contain:
-
Abstract in Portuguese and English; one more (optional) third language; with, at most, 200 words; containing objective(s), methodology(ies) and result(s), so as to sufficiently and concisely contemplate all the content of the work.
-
Keywords (minimum three; maximum five) in the two mandatory languages (Portuguese and English); plus optional, if applicable; separated by semicolons.
-
More details in the menu, section Text Formatting.
-
Reviews should contain between 2,000 (two thousand) and 6,000 (six thousand) words (including spaces, notes and references). Reviews of works in Portuguese published in the last three years and in foreign language, in the last five years will be accepted. The review must relate to works of philosophy and be unpublished. The text must be in Portuguese or English and contain full identification of the work. The formatting of the text, citations and references must meet the same rules as articles. The review will be evaluated according to the description of the content of the work, critical analysis and textual quality. The authorship of the review must differ from the authorship of the reviewed work, nor should it have a family, academic or employment link with the original authorship of the work.
-
Translations and interviews will be appreciated by the editorial staff as appropriate. The recommended length in both cases is between 2,000 (two thousand) and 6,000 (six thousand) words. Upon submission, the author must send a copy of the original text, in case of translation. It is the author's responsibility to present to Inquietude authorization (from those who hold the copyright of the text) to publish the translation, attached upon submission, unless justified otherwise. Regarding interviews, we encourage that they are published in co-authorship of the interviewers and interviewees. The interview assumes the point of view of the person interviewed, however, marked by the philosophical investigation of the interviewer or co-authors: this can be translated, preferably, in an introduction that contextualizes the motivation and problematic present in the interview, as well as its relevance to the state-of-the-art of the topic discussed.
-
Considering Inquietude adopts the double blind peer review, the editorial board will not reveal the name of reviewers to the author, nor the name of the author to reviewers, regardless of whether the article is accepted or not. Therefore, the papers must not contain any identification of authorship or evaluation: name, title, institutional link and e-mail of authorship should be sent in a separate file upon submission of the article.
-
The recognition of the first publication should be attributed to Inquietude, however, it can be republished and deposited in repositories of choice by the author, with the favorable opinion of the author and of the journal (considering the cases in which the Inquietude becomes responsible for mediating possible conflicts of interest, according to our Retraction Policy).
-
Accepted articles will be published free of charge in PDF format, online version, on revistainquietude.com.br.
-
Articles of the same author will not be published in consecutive issues of the journal (observed this rule, the article, if accepted, may be archived to be published in one of the subsequent issues, under the author's consent).
-
Inquietude seeks to obey the highest criterion of "exogenesis" (80%), regulated by Ordinance no 145, of September 10, 2021 (CAPES) and specified by the Journals Qualis Area 33: Philosophy Report.
-
In order to standardize the final version, Inquietude constantly encourages all editorial and double-blind peer review staff to follow the general instructions for evaluation and textual formatting.
-
The articles must be submitted in: Make New Submission.
