The challenges in the 21st century about the relation between press freedom and democracy according to Tocqueville and Marx

The aim of the present work is, first, to investigate the relationship between freedom of the press and democracy in Alexis de Tocqueville and Karl Marx. Their views on this topic, that was (and it still is) very controversial at the time of both authors, will be analyzed. Then, the article proposes to investigate to what extent the vision of the two authors is in fact applied in our current press, and if not, to check to what extent your analysis can help to end, or at least minimize, such problems.
