This paper aims to develop a study for a deeper understanding of what is in fact political philosophy in the view of the American-Teutonic political philosopher Leo Strauss. Evidently, the accomplishment of such task requires the development of a preliminary explanation of what political philosophy is in a general sense for this author. In a second moment, to clarify what political philosophy is in a strict sense. Thus, the main goal of this approach is to analyze the fundamental concepts and problems of political philosophy in Strauss’ view.
