Courage of truth and cynicism

The paper discusses the relationship between cynicism and courage of the truth. It presents Michel Foucault’s lectures on The Courage of Truth and its specificities in the Cynical philosophy. Next, it addresses the canine metaphor in the establishment of a Cynic way of life and the issue regarding the defacement of currency in its relations with the creation of a different life based on cynicism, which may point to the relevance of this philosophical school of thought in contemporaneity.
