Abstract

This article intends to follow the ricoeurian path on Oneself as another seeking an ontological interpretation of the results achieved with the hermeneutics of Selfhood. The ontology of Paul Ricoeur owns human action as its central issue, at the same time it seeks to preserve the polysemy of being, that is, maintaining the plurality of ways in which the self can be talked about. We follow, in this way, the ontological proposal of Paul Ricoeur of fragmentary character that passes through philosophies like Aristotle, Heidegger, Spinoza, Lévinas and Husserl. The announced speculative character of his ontological proposal aims mainly at the understanding of the lasting of oneself through its relation with otherness.
