"A heroic history of modernity" - comments on Josef Früchtl's The impertinent self

This article aims to present aspects of Josef Früchtl’s theory on modern subjectivity, based on a combination of the philosophical “I” and the figure of the hero found in some film genres. The focus of this relation will be the philosophy of Hegel and the Western, including an introduction to the principles of the phenomenon of modernity and its three strata: the classic, the agonal and the hybrid.
