A phenomenology of existence
On Cézanne's doubt by Maurice Merleau-Ponty
Keywords:
Cézanne, Merleau-Ponty, Nature, SensationsAbstract
Life versus work, which is due to painting of Cézanne? We understand the work and for life from another perspective, translating it from the history of art. Cézanne’s painting, imbued with inhuman character, was a painting of nature arising. This article in light of the thought of Merleau-Ponty proposes to elucidate the existence-art relation in the painter’s work, revealing through art and the lived awareness that Cézanne creates as it clearly reflects in his paintings the appearance of things by sensation.
