Keywords:
Philosophy, Heidegger, MetaphysicsAbstract
The following article aims to restore the explanation of the origin and history of the word "metaphysics" according to Heidegger in the book The fundamental concepts of metaphysics: world, finitude, solitude. Therefore, we will start by highlighting the real meaning of phýsis in order to thoroughly understand the definition for the term "physics", which composes the word "metaphysics". Furthermore, we will briefly address the concept of phýsis as stated by Aristotle, in order to clarify the context in which the meaning of metà arises, and consequently, analyze the transformation in the understanding of metaphysics as well as in philosophy. Lastly, it will be emphasized the relationship among philosophy, metaphysics and transcendence so as to show that they are the very being there.
